An opportunity has become available to join a client of ours as a Finance Officer on a maternity leave contract for up to twelve months. This role sits in a small finance team of three, and is responsible for end-to-end accounts receivable, payables, payroll and month-end support. This role is best suited to someone with similar experience who is able to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a close knit team. This role is based in Sydney CBD and offers hybrid working arrangements once settled.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable and Receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment and invoice management.
- Assist with monthly payroll processing across AU, NZ, and USA
- Credit card reconciliations - coding, categorising and balancing credit card transactions
- Staff reimbursements - verifying and processing employee expense claims
- Assisting with month end accounting procedures (journals, accruals etc.) and with production of monthly and quarterly reports as required
- Support forecasting of monthly and quarterly revenue in line with business strategy
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- 2-4 years' experience in accounts, bookkeeping or finance officer roles
- Intermediate excel skills (confident with v-lookups/pivot tables)
- Xero experience is preferred
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders of all levels
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Studying or planning to commence professional CPA/CA or equivalent qualification would be desirable
