This large, well established multinational organisation provides extensive services to the engineering, utilities, mining and energy industries on a large scale. They have enjoyed a period of sustained growth, acquisitions and are looking to continue to expand their service offering into new locations and industries. They are now looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their friendly and supportive team on an initial 6 month contract basis.
The Role
Reporting into the Finance Manager your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly Journals & Reporting: Coordinate and prepare monthly journals, assist with accruals, provision accounting, payroll related entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Assisting in preparation of end of month group related reporting and submissions. Provide financial analysis, including variance analysis and commentary for management reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of Payroll Tax and FBT workpapers.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, reporting requirements, and support during audits.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement documentation or process improvements within the finance team with a keen focus on internal control.
- Team Collaboration: Work proactively with the finance team and support broader tasks as required, including ad-hoc support for the Finance Manager.
- Assisting the credit team with support during the month.
Tertiary qualified in an Accounting related degree, you will possess prior experience within a similar commercial organisation or chartered accounting firm.
In addition, you will have intermediate MS Excel skills.
Interpersonally, you are bright, hungry to learn and display a willingness to assist the wider team.
