The Role
Reporting to the Senior Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will play a pivotal role in supporting financial operations, reporting, compliance, and business planning. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional to contribute to a high-performing team in a varied and hands-on role.
Responsibilities
- Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations, accrual schedules, and payroll reconciliations
- Prepare monthly management and financial reports
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and business case scenario modelling
- Assist in internal and external audit processes
- Monitor, analyse, and report on accounting data
- Manage contract administration and fixed asset entries
- Support compliance reporting including BAS, FBT, and other statutory requirements
- Review and contribute to policy and procedure development
- Collaborate with stakeholders on finance-related queries and provide financial insights
- Assist in the payroll function when required
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Must have experience in a Big 4 or mid-tier environment
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance, with CPA or CA membership (or working towards)
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- A proactive approach with demonstrated initiative and ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
