An exciting opportunity within an industry-leading Media organisation currently exists in order to fill a key role in their finance team. This revenue accountant role will play an integral part in the finance team and be responsible for all revenue and incoming recognition related activities, ensuring that revenue is recognised in a timely and accurate fashion. Initially, this role will commence as a long-term contractual role, however there is the strong potential for this to be extended / become permanent.
The responsibilities
Reporting into the GM of Finance, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
- Overseeing the company’s revenue transactions and compliance across all revenue streams, ensuring revenue is recognised in accordance with latest accounting standards (AASBs).
- Maintaining, analysing and overseeing all revenue and income recognition related activities
- Month-end reporting activities including monthly reconciliation of accrued income and balance sheet accounts.
- Building strong cross-functional business relationships to ensure partnership across the business
- Ad-hoc work / projects as required
- Demonstrated experience in Revenue roles
- Demonstrated experience in an organisation - experience working within a Media/Broadcasting environment will be highly regarded.
- Excellent communication skills
- A high level of empathy and strong interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Tertiary qualification in Business / Accounting / Commerce.
- A completed CA or CPA qualification or are studying towards qualification, will be highly regarded
