About the Role
Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller plays a key leadership role in managing Qanstruct’s day-to-day finance function. This is a hands-on and strategic role, responsible for financial reporting, compliance, payroll, budgeting, and risk management, while also supporting commercial decision-making and continuous improvement across the business.
You will lead and mentor a capable finance team and work closely with internal stakeholders across operations, projects, and executive leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Prepare and present accurate monthly financial reports and consolidated accounts
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
  • Manage statutory and legal compliance, including all tax obligations
  • Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Identify financial risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
  • Monitor and control project costs to enhance profitability
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks and opportunities
  • Maintain strong financial controls and ensure data integrity
  • Collaborate with project managers and functional leaders to support business objectives
  • Support, coach, and develop finance team members, driving continuous improvement
  
The Ideal Candidate
We’re seeking a confident and capable finance leader who brings:
  • CA or CPA qualification, with a tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in senior finance roles such a Finance Manager or Controller
  • Construction industry or project-based experience (highly desirable)
  • Strong technical skills in financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and payroll
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders to support strategic decision-making
  • A collaborative and supportive leadership style, with a passion for developing teams
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and a continuous improvement mindset
