About the Role
Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller plays a key leadership role in managing Qanstruct’s day-to-day finance function. This is a hands-on and strategic role, responsible for financial reporting, compliance, payroll, budgeting, and risk management, while also supporting commercial decision-making and continuous improvement across the business.
You will lead and mentor a capable finance team and work closely with internal stakeholders across operations, projects, and executive leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare and present accurate monthly financial reports and consolidated accounts
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
- Manage statutory and legal compliance, including all tax obligations
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Identify financial risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
- Monitor and control project costs to enhance profitability
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks and opportunities
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure data integrity
- Collaborate with project managers and functional leaders to support business objectives
- Support, coach, and develop finance team members, driving continuous improvement
The Ideal Candidate
We’re seeking a confident and capable finance leader who brings:
- CA or CPA qualification, with a tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in senior finance roles such a Finance Manager or Controller
- Construction industry or project-based experience (highly desirable)
- Strong technical skills in financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and payroll
- Experience partnering with senior leaders to support strategic decision-making
- A collaborative and supportive leadership style, with a passion for developing teams
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and a continuous improvement mindset
