Carers Queensland is the peak body representing unpaid family and community carers in Queensland. They respond to the unique and changing needs of the 533,200 carers across the state and those they care for. Carers Queensland started as the Queensland Council of Carers and established its head office in Camp Hill, Brisbane in 1989. Since then, they have given carers a voice. They champion equal rights and opportunities. They focus on providing support services to caring families based on what they need. They are dedicated to making life better.

About the Position

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager Navigation will lead the existing services delivered by Carers Queensland, who is Australia’s largest Local Area Coordinator (LAC) partner through the NDIS. With a mandate for growth, this newly created position will seek to leverage this expertise in new industry sectors in Queensland and Australia. The General Manager Navigation leads the largest portfolio within Carers Queensland and will need to balance both strategic and operational imperatives ensuring quality, regulatory compliance and customer service levels are met.

Furthermore, this business-critical role will lead various projects designed to strengthen reporting to the Board, key stakeholders, and external funders and a create a fit for purpose organisational structure which supports Carers Queensland’s existing and growing scope of services as well as building a culture of industry leading engagement and inclusion.

About the Person

We are seeking an impressive operational and strategic leader who has previously managed a large and geographically dispersed workforce ideally within the not-for-profit sector delivering health and/or community services. A track record of operational excellence, delighting customers and creating highly engaged teams in a complex and regulated environment is essential for this position.  An ability to work at pace, be intellectually curious and alignment to organisational values of Integrity, Respect, Diversity, Empowerment and Adaptability will be highly regarded, as well as relevant lived experience.
