This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Grade 3 Cardiac Sonographer to step into a 6-month maternity leave contract, starting in October 2025, with the view to transition into a permanent, part-time role (Tues, Thurs, Fri).
About the Role
You’ll join a well-established department of 10-14 professionals (including RNs, admin, cardiac techs, and sonographers) providing a comprehensive range of non-invasive and interventional cardiac imaging services.
With 1 scan per hour and dedicated admin time at the end of each day, you’ll have the breathing room to maintain quality and accuracy in your work, not just quantity.
You’ll perform:
- Outpatient and inpatient transthoracic echocardiography
- Stress echocardiography (including pharmacological)
- Transoesophageal echocardiography assistance
- Imaging support for interventional procedures (TAVI, MitraClip, TriClip)
- $71.45/hr + superannuation (commensurate with experience)
- 6-month maternity leave cover, with scope to transition into permanent part-time
- 3-month completion bonus of up to $1,000
- Professional development allowance of $1,000 per year (pro-rata, cumulative over 2 years)

- Flexible part-time hours: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (8am–6pm)
- ASAR-accredited Cardiac Sonographer (or equivalent)
- Sound knowledge of cardiac disease, arrhythmias, and cardiac pathology
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
