They are currently looking for an experienced Group Payroll Manager to lead their payroll division in a role that sees you as part of a broader finance team. Responsibilities
Reporting into the Financial Controller, the role will involve taking leadership of the Payroll team with key tasks involving:
- Management of a medium sized team of 10 staff
- Overseeing the end to end payroll processing for over 8,000 staff using Chris 21 on a fortnightly frequency
- Ensuring the compliance and governance of the payroll
- Completion of PAYG, Payroll Tax, WorkCover and Superannuation payments
- Preparation of monthly payroll journals for posting into the General Ledger
- Senior stakeholder engagement with staff
- Ensure relevant awards and legislation are interpreted
- Develop and strive for process improvement to improve efficiencies
- Proving accurate information in response to employee queries
- Leading system improvements and upgrades
The successful applicant will have proven leadership experience in a similar Payroll Manager position along with the following skills and attributes:
- Previous experience in a leadership role, ideally within the healthcare sector
- Exposure to a large system such as Chris 21, iChris or SAP
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- The ability to interpret numerous awards and EBAs
- Proven process improvement initiatives
