As Head of Data, you will lead and empower a data team responsible for delivering trusted, scalable, and intelligent data solutions across the business. You’ll drive the design and maintenance of robust data pipelines across a diverse ecosystem, from relational and document databases to the central Snowflake data warehouse. Leveraging AI and automation, you’ll ensure efficient, accurate, and timely data delivery that supports strategic decision-making and innovation.
You’ll work across the stack of ingestion, orchestration, monitoring, and transformation, while also coaching engineers, advocating for clean design, and making sure the data stays trustworthy and fresh.
About the Role
This is a hybrid technical and leadership position. You'll split your time between hands-on development, coding, designing scalable systems and supporting your team through mentorship, collaboration, and clearing roadblocks for cross-functional initiatives.
Reporting Line
You’ll report directly to the Head of Engineering and work closely with stakeholders across the business.
Key Requirements
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data engineers, creating an environment that supports innovation, accountability, and continuous learning
- Champion best practices in data engineering, including scalable pipeline design, testing, and monitoring
- Design and maintain robust ELT/ETL pipelines across multiple data sources and systems
- Drive data quality initiatives within AI environments, using automation and intelligent tools to detect, correct, and prevent data issues
- Partner with data science and AI teams to ensure clean, reliable, and well structured data fuels model development and production use
- Promote strong collaboration across teams and help align data solutions with strategic business goals
- Experience working with data orchestration platforms such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect
- Proficient in data quality assurance and transformation tools like Great Expectations and dbt
- Knowledgeable in infrastructure-as-code solutions, including Terraform and AWS CDK
- Proven track record in fostering a positive team culture and mentoring engineers for both personal and professional growth
The business are moving towards a remote style work environment. They are now working from home 4 days a week and are considering full time remote. However, they would like their new team member to be able to visit the office and attend work events.
