Sharp and Carter are working with James Cook University to recruit the vital role of Head of Digital Systems Delivery.

This fulltime, continuing role can be based at JCU’s Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus or Cairns Nguma-bada campus in picturesque tropical North Queensland. Remuneration is $163,800 (inclusive of super), leave loading and other generous employee benefits.
  
About  the role
This role involves spearheading the provision of top-tier digital systems services throughout the University, guaranteeing that these services align with the organization's goals and enable the realization of strategic and quantifiable technological solutions. You will be responsible for securing optimal business results for the University by overseeing and supervising intricate programs and projects, ensuring that all objectives are met within designated timeframes, budgetary confines, and quality parameters. In addition, you will take the lead in both strategic and tactical planning for the Digital Systems portfolio, making sure that system-related endeavors are strategically aligned, prioritize business value, and mirror enterprise and business priorities. Your role will encompass directing the Digital Systems Delivery portfolio and its personnel, cultivating a culture of exceptional performance, collaboration, and innovation, which will directly influence staff retention, performance levels, and overall success. A crucial aspect of your responsibilities will involve continuous enhancement of service delivery, with a focus on implementing best practices, cybersecurity initiatives, and the practical adoption of DevSecOps and Agile methodologies.
  
About you
With degree or postgraduate qualifications and extensive experience, the desired candidate should possess extensive expertise in overseeing substantial and blended systems (combining on-premise, private, and public cloud setups), coupled with up-to-date familiarity with agile methodologies. Demonstrated accomplishments in effectively delivering and managing diverse cloud services (including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) including Microsoft 365 are essential. This role necessitates exceptional capabilities in management and leadership, encompassing adept management of human, financial, and physical resources within a sizeable and diverse team. Proven skills in executing Tactical Planning and translating strategic goals into actionable plans are expected. Advanced problem-solving acumen is a prerequisite, along with the ability to exercise discernment and resolve intricate and sensitive matters to achieve program objectives. The role requires excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills at a high level, including a demonstrated track record of cultivating productive relationships.
