Position Summary:
 In this critical role, our client seeks a HR Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting directly into the Head of People and Culture, with 4 direct reports and based on site 5 days a week, the successful candidate will oversee operations across the Bairnsdale site.
  
Key Responsibilities:
  • HR Advisory Role: Be a trusted advisor for the site on all HR related matters.
  • Employee Relations: Identify and resolve any ER issues on site
  • Change Management and Organizational Development (OD): Contributing and/or leading various change and OD initiatives collaborating with the wider HR team
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Educate site leaders on best practices when it comes to HR related matters
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Using data and analytics to inform HR strategies, workforce planning, and talent management.
  • Employee Engagement Advocacy: Champion employee engagement activities.
  • Payroll Support: Assist payroll in rolling out a new time and attendance system.
Skills and Experience:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in HR or related field.
  • Professional Experience: Proven track record in HR management or as an HR BP who is ready to step up, within a unionized environment.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional negotiation and leadership abilities.
  • Problem-Solving Aptitude: Logical and analytical mindset.
  • Legal and Policy Knowledge: Understanding of HR policies, practices, and employment legislation.
  • Collaborative Approach: Ability to build effective partnerships across the organization.
