About the Role:

This is a Junior Accountant opportunity within a small, supportive finance team for a well-known not-for-profit organisation in the community services sector.

This is a newly created role, with an immediate start required.
You will be reporting directly into the Finance Manager, working within a small finance team and supporting month-end, reporting, and core accounting functions. This role has been created to support the transition of operational responsibilities, allowing the Finance Manager to focus on strategic priorities.

This role suits a developing accountant who is confident stepping into a hands-on accounting function quickly, with strong foundations in financial accounting, reporting, and reconciliations.

While not-for-profit experience is advantageous, it is not essential.

Key Responsibilities:
• Month-end processing and reporting
• Accruals (including income, long service leave, and income recognition)
• Expense allocations and analysis
• Analytical review of allocations
• BAS preparation and support
• Participation in meetings and meeting minutes
• Financial reporting
• Assisting with interim reporting
• EOFY audit support
• Assisting with budgeting processes
• Cash flow analysis
• Xero processing

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
• Accounting experience in a transactional and reporting environment
• Strong understanding of month-end processes
• Experience with accruals and financial reporting
• Xero exposure
• Advanced Excel capability (including pivot tables)
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Begun CA/CPA studies (desirable)
• Not-for-profit experience (advantageous)
• Ability to commit through end-of-month processing
