The laboratory is established and stable, with a solid client base and experienced technicians, and is now ready for a hands-on leader to drive performance, culture and market growth. They are looking for a Lab Manager to join the business in Auckland.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, the Laboratory Manager will take ownership of the laboratory’s day-to-day leadership, operational performance and local business growth.
You will lead a team of approximately six technicians and laboratory staff, strengthening workflow, improving cross-training and capability, and ensuring quality and turnaround standards are consistently achieved.
A key part of the role will also be re-engaging and growing the local client base, building strong relationships with clinicians, providing technical consultation on complex cases, and partnering with national sales and support teams to increase laboratory volume and market presence. This position requires someone who can balance clinical excellence with commercial reality maintaining high standards while driving efficiency and throughput.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a senior technical or leadership role.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop technical teams.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workflow and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism and work ethic.
- Ideally Qualified Dental Technician or strong background in a dental laboratory environment.
