About the Role
A well-established food manufacturing business based in regional New South Wales is seeking a qualified and proactive Maintenance Electrician to join its team. As part of the maintenance team, you’ll be responsible for electrical maintenance, breakdown response, and installations across automated production lines. This is a hands-on role that offers variety, autonomy, and the chance to make a meaningful impact through continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled systems and electrical/pneumatic control systems
- Install, commission, and modify equipment, including control panels, switchboards, and wiring
- Assist with fault finding on instrumentation and weighing systems
- Provide immediate response to equipment breakdowns
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, electrical standards, and permit requirements
- Supervise apprentices and support broader team activities when required
About You
- Fully qualified Electrician with a current Australian Electrical License
- Proven experience in an industrial or FMCG environment (preferred but not essential)
- Strong problem-solving skills in fault finding and troubleshooting
- Familiar with PLC systems, control valves, and pneumatics
- Ability to read and produce electrical drawings
- Basic welding skills (Oxy, MIG/TIG with stainless steel) desirable
