About the Company
We're partnering with a major player in the Australian infrastructure and logistics space. Their Brisbane terminal is a mission-critical operation - handling high volumes, advanced automation, and increasingly complex assets.

About the Role
As an Engineering Manager you will look after the entire maintenance function at this operation. You'll take ownership of an engineering and maintenance team of 40 people, including Maintenance Supervisors as direct reports, trades under them, and an admin assistant.

This is a highly skilled and long-serving team. Your job will be to build engagement in the team, set the tone, and focus the team around the shared purpose and performance for how the maintenance and reliability function ties in to the overall operations of the site.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Lead, mentor and engage a high-tenured maintenance team through a period of cultural and operational change.
  • Implement and embed a structured maintenance program - catching up on planned maintenance.
  • Drive reliability and asset strategy in a mixed environment of ageing and new equipment.
  • Foster a culture of reliability-centered maintenance and continuous improvement.
  
Skills and Experience
  • Degree qualified in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or similar)
  • 5+ years' experience leading maintenance, reliability and engineering within a heavy industrial environment with high-value assets (e.g. ports, terminals, logistics, mining, utilities, manufacturing)
  • Strong people leadership experience in unionised, blue-collar environments
  • Deep understanding of maintenance systems, asset lifecycle planning and reliability-centred maintenance.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma or other Continuous Improvement frameworks will be highly regarded.
