The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this hands-on Management Accountant role oversees financial reporting, budgeting, project accounting, and compliance. You’ll take ownership of the finance function, partnering with key stakeholders to ensure accurate cost tracking, job profitability, and financial insights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet)
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow
  • Oversee project accounting and cost allocation
  • Report on WIP and job profitability
  • Handle tax and compliance (BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax)
  • Drive process improvements and financial efficiency
  • Support strategic initiatives and liaise with auditors and regulators
  • Partner with leadership to provide financial guidance
Key Skills
  • CA/CPA qualified with strong commercial acumen
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Management Accountant or similar role, ideally in construction or project-based industries
  • Strong understanding of project accounting, WIP reporting, and job costing
  • Hands-on approach with a proactive and problem-solving mindset
  • Experience in financial systems and Excel proficiency
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills to support business-wide decision-making
