We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Management Accountant to join a high-performing finance team within a major Australian construction materials organisation. This role plays a key part in delivering financial insights, analysis, and reporting to support strategic decision‑making across the business.
You will partner closely with operations, logistics, and sales teams to drive performance improvements and strengthen financial capability across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver month-end close tasks in line with strict timeframes.
- Prepare accurate budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and follow up outstanding items.
- Conduct variance analysis and support Monthly Business Review (MBR) discussions.
- Support sustainability and decarbonisation reporting requirements.
- Build strong relationships across sales, operations, logistics and finance teams.
- Provide insights and coaching to enhance financial understanding across the organisation.
- Support profit improvement initiatives (e.g., cost optimisation, volume improvements).
- Manage cost drivers through strong P&L oversight.
- Oversee inventory processes, master data accuracy, site reviews, and stocktakes.
- Enhance inventory control to reduce days on hand.
- Lead standardisation and automation initiatives across finance processes.
- Support continuous improvement in accounting processes and systems.
- Document finance and operational processes to ensure consistency.
The successful applicant will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce or similar.
- CPA/CA qualified or working towards completion.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
- Excellent time management, stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Exposure to industrial, manufacturing or construction preferred
