About the Position

Reporting to the Divisional Manager Lifestyle and Community Services, the Manager Connected Communities will be primarily responsible for providing transformational leadership and expert advice on the delivery of internationally recognised social outcomes across the city. Specifically, this will involve successfully implementing world class community inclusive programs across sports and recreation services, indigenous and multicultural, youth services, access and equity, immunisation services and community safety. In addition, the Branch is responsible for the contract management of award-winning community festivals and delivery of community grants and the development of and implementation of key social policy and strategy frameworks through advocacy-based activities.

  
About the Person

You are a passionate executive who has significant experience leading a dynamic and diverse range of service delivery teams, including subject matter experts, ideally within the human services or government administration industry sectors. You are commercially astute and lead from the heart with progressive and in-depth knowledge across community development programs, arts and cultural services.  Leadership will be your hallmark and your ability to channel the passion of your teams and help them to connect with other areas of council for seamless service delivery will take up the major part of your day. Experience in event management will be highly regarded as will expertise in public health programs, leisure, and recreational service delivery.  Your unwavering customer focus and an ability to think strategically, plan and anticipate emerging community issues will be key to your success. Savvy stakeholder management skills, resilience, agility and strong change and project management capabilities are also considered essential.
