The Role
The company is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the engineering team and support the development of high-quality mechanical products. This is a diverse and hands-on role, where you will work across product development, technical design, and customer support, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to specification.
This position requires strong SolidWorks skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working in manufacturing or industrial engineering environments. You will engage with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders, managing projects from concept to completion.
Key responsibilities
- Design of all materials using SolidWorks while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Create manufacturing drawings, prototypes, and technical documentation, conducting engineering calculations and material selections.
- Provide technical assistance to the sales team, respond to inquiries, and liaise with suppliers to determine best outcomes.
- Oversee projects from concept to completion, managing deadlines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations
- Work closely with production teams, create work instructions for suppliers, and assist with QA processes.
- Support workflow management and process efficiency in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
- Ensure designs meet industry regulations, maintain accurate records, write reports accordingly.
- 5+ years’ experience in mechanical design or production engineering.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- High-level SolidWorks skills.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturing principles.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Hands-on attitude – willing to engage with production teams and assist where needed.
- Experience in QA processes and supplier management is an advantage.
