The role
As a Mechatronics Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, implementing, and operating smart, automated systems within their truck trailer manufacturing operations. This role requires a deep integration of mechanics, electronics, and computing to enhance the manufacturing processes, product design, and functionality. You will be reporting into the Production and Project Engineer Manager and collaborate cross functionally with the engineering and manufacturing teams, senior management and key external suppliers.
You will oversee the installation, calibration, and testing of mechatronic equipment and systems in both manufacturing operations and final products. Your role involves troubleshooting and optimising these systems to ensure their reliability and performance. You will stay current with the latest mechatronics technologies and trends, evaluating their applicability to their operations. Additionally, you will prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, manuals, and user guides, while ensuring all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics Engineering or Robotics Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience in mechatronics engineering, preferably in the automotive, transportation or manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and computer engineering principles.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Experience with CAD and other relevant software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and innovatively.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
