About the role

Our client is a well-renowned FMCG business that produces quality long-life product for the Retail, Foodservice and Industrial markets. Some recent changes within the business have created a new role for an experienced Sales Manager to lead the Retail channel for the organisation. This includes ultimately taking responsibility for category strategy, NPD/innovation, growth, sales and achieving profit targets to ensure success through  Coles and WW across Branded and Private Label.
  
Duties
  • Develop and deliver tactical sales plans for key accounts that drive sales performance
  • Identify and deliver new business opportunities and manage the relationships to ensure sustainability in the new business arena.
  • Sit as an integral part of the leadership team and partner with a range of stakeholders across the business (Operations/Finance/NPD/Supply Chain/Customer Service)
  • Report into the GM of Sales and be their trusted adviser on the direction and performance of the major grovery channel
  • Negotiate pricing agreements & terms of business with key retailers across both Private Label and Branded products
  • Attract, retain and develop the capability within team to ensure that the required level of expertise within the team exists and that the team is fully engaged and performs to the expected standards
Skills & Experience       
  • A ‘can do’ attitude              
  • Major grovery experience
  • Senior level experience from within an FMCG organisation with full responsibility for the Coles or Woolworths accounts
  • Proven ability to execute a strategic plan, manage projects and drive NPD initiatives
  • Prior experience in transforming a sales function to one that is category lead and data driven
  • Strong communication & stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously & have an agile approach to sales & leadership
  • Be a passionate leader who loves to take ownership of a sales channel 
  • Exposure to managing a branded product portfolio as well as private label
