With a focus on precision manufacturing, lean operations, and quality assurance, they are seeking a strategic leader to oversee and enhance their end-to-end production and logistics operations.
About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Director and forming part of the senior leadership team, this role is responsible for leading manufacturing, logistics, procurement, and supply chain functions across the business. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping operational performance, ensuring on-time delivery, and driving continuous improvement in line with customer and business goals.
Location: Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily manufacturing and logistics operations in line with lean principles.
- Oversee preventative maintenance and minimise machinery downtime.
- Support capacity planning and ensure production schedules meet customer demand.
- Manage procurement activities, including supplier reviews and contract negotiations.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels based on forecasts and sales data.
- Drive compliance with quality and safety standards, addressing non-conformances.
- Report on key operational metrics and implement improvement initiatives.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to operational teams.
- Collaborate with Sales and Engineering on cost estimates, lead times, and product improvements.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience leading manufacturing operations in an industrial environment, preferably high precision materials or engineering.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- A resilient, action oriented leader, capable of influencing positive change.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- A Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
