Based in Melbourne’s inner suburbs, they are currently seeking an experienced Packaging Technologist to join their team.
About the Role
As the Packaging Technologist, you will report into the technical function and lead packaging innovation projects across all product categories. Your focus will be on ensuring alignment with sustainability targets while delivering innovative packaging solutions from concept through to commercialization.
Working closely with R&D and supply chain teams, you will drive the development and implementation of cutting-edge packaging technologies. You will also oversee APCO and internal ESG reporting to support and track sustainability goals.
This role involves collaboration with global teams across regions, to ensure packaging consistency and the integration of best practices. In addition, you’ll engage with suppliers to identify and implement new materials and technologies that enhance product performance and meet evolving industry standards.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Science, Food Science, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in packaging development or a similar role in the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food packaging materials, design principles, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality standards.
- Proficiency in packaging testing methods and equipment and Ability to work with data and trends.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Commitment to sustainability and a passion for reducing environmental impact through packaging.
