Our client is a leading council, responsible for delivering a wide range of community services as well as maintaining essential community infrastructure. They are looking for a Payroll System Specialist with Chris21 knowledge to support their supportive and high performing payroll team.
The Role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Providing specialist payroll advice and support on HRIS systems, reporting and business improvement initiatives to ensure efficiencies and best practice.
- Reviewing current practices and making recommendations on improvement initiatives. This also includes scoping options, project management of new systems and driving the change management process.
- Ensuring compliance with legislative changes and keeping up with best practice and the needs of the organisation.
- Ensuring all salary related documentation and payments are processed accurately and on time.
- Providing and assisting the Payroll Coordinator in the review, development and delivery of an effective payroll process and systems consistent with legislative requirements and best practice.
- Ensuring the full delivery of the payroll service during periods when payroll staff are on leave
- Preparing internal payroll reports and data as required and preparing external information for ABS payroll related surveys
- Providing assistance and training to support the HR Services team to produce reports
- Providing consistent, well-informed and accurate advice on payroll and system related matters.
The successful applicant will have
- Prior experience within a similar payroll system specialist role using Chris21/iChris is essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work in a team based environment
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise urgent work
- Analytical skills and an ability to think outside the box
