Our client are market leaders in the healthcare industry. Boasting a reputation for excellence, the organisation is seeking a Payroll Compliance Specialist to join their supportive and close-knit team in a newly created position.

Role & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Payroll & Remuneration Manager, you will be responsible for: 
  • Ensuring all payments are made in accordance with Awards, Agreements, Company Policy and Procedures, FairWork, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, and other relevant legislative requirements
  • Identifying and consolidating payroll compliance risks and issues across an organisation
  • Identifying process improvement strategies with current systems and processes, particularly across governance framework
  • Assisting with building of newly identified framework for all new payroll governance & compliance controls
  • Maintain award data and ensure wages payments comply with EBA or awards
  • Ensure efficient completion of troubleshooting as required
  • Plan and implement all payroll changes in relation to new and amended industrial instruments.
  • Oversee the queries relating to Third party requirements
  • Respond to escalated payroll compliance queries in an efficient and timely manner
  • Assist in preparing journal entries and reconcile payroll related Gl accounts as set by Payroll Accountant
  • Adhoc reporting requirements as set per Payroll Manager
  • Check pay run variance report for discrepancies
  • Review and update payroll processes on a regular basis to maintain continuous improvement
  • Assist to process monthly pays as required

The Successful Applicant

You will have extensive experience across payroll governance and compliance, along with the following attributes.
  • Experience with Chris 21 would be advantageous, though not essential
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Strong payroll technical knowledge (eg. understanding of portable long service leave, insurances, personal indemnity, superannuation etc) 
  • Experienced in reviewing/updating procedural documentation
  • Demonstrated capability to identify, implement and optimise Payroll technologies
  • Experienced in working with large volumes of data to identify anomalies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
