The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and autonomous Payroll Officer to join a growing organisation operating within a multi-entity environment. This role has been created following an internal restructure, where payroll responsibilities are being separated from a senior finance role to establish a dedicated payroll function within the business.
Working within a collaborative finance team, you will take full ownership of payroll across multiple entities, ensuring compliance, accuracy and continuous process improvement. This position would suit someone who enjoys working autonomously, improving systems and processes, and becoming the go-to payroll expert within an organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end payroll processing across multiple entities (under 200 employees)
• Interpreting and applying EBAs and Awards
• Ensuring payroll compliance across superannuation, legislative updates and payroll obligations
• Managing employee lifecycle changes including onboarding, changes and terminations
• Handling payroll queries and resolving discrepancies
• Maintaining accurate payroll records, reconciliations and reporting
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement and increased payroll efficiency
• Acting as the central point of payroll expertise within the organisation
- Previous payroll experience with the Construction industry or similar would be highly regarded.
- Previous experience in an autonomous end-to-end payroll position or one with strong ownership
- Strong capability in EBA and Award interpretation
- Experience managing payroll across multiple entities or complex payroll environments
- Exposure to payroll systems or ERP platforms
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, superannuation and compliance requirements
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work independently
- $90,000–$100,000 + Super (depending on experience)
- Permanent, full-time opportunity
