Based in Sydney’s Northwest, our client is searching for an experienced payroll lead or manager to manage the payroll team in this newly created role. This role has a focus managing the payroll team and leading a Kronos implementation project. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who has experience with managing a team and a passion for process improvement.
Responsibilities
As the Payroll manager, you will:
- Manage, coach and lead 4 payroll officers
- Ensure the payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with EA, Awards and payroll tax.
- Coordinate, direct and control payroll preparation, processing and distribution
- Reconciliation of payroll accounts and reporting as required
- Lead the Kronos system implementation project and additional process improvements within the payroll function
- Testing the new system and ensuring compliance with awards and EBAs
- Monthly/Year-end reporting, including preparing and distributing reports and documentation.
- Calculating payroll tax, work cover and superannuation, processing new starters and terminations
The ideal candidate for this position will fit the following criteria:
- Experience with managing a team
- Experience leading a system implementation project
- Knowledge of EBA’s and payroll tax laws
- Ability to lead and train individuals
- Effective time management
