The Organisation

The business is a world leading ASX listed business in Melbourne's inner suburbs, who provide a range of services. They have over 60 years of history within the business, and provide top of the range service in the construction industry. They are currently looking for a Payroll Officer to join their team on a permanent basis to assist their existing Payroll Officer. 


The role will involve working alongside another Payroll Officer to run the Payroll division. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Overseeing the end to end payroll processing for 800 employees on a fortnightly and monthly basis 
  • Completion of PAYG, Payroll Tax, WorkCover and Superannuation payments
  • Process new starters and terminations 
  • Maintain leave and leave reports 
  • Preparation of monthly payroll journals for posting into the General Ledger
  • Set up Superannuation Funds for new starters 
  • Develop and strive for process improvement to improve efficiencies
  • Respond to any employees queries 

Candidate Profile

The successful applicant will have proven experience in a similar position along with the following skills and attributes:
  • Proven experience with processing end to end Payroll 
  • A go-getter attitude and willingness to learn 
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Self motivated and can work in a team and autonomously 
  • Ability to build relationships with internal staff members
