About the role
This retail organisation is looking for an ambitious Payroll Specialist to join their growing employee workforce. The purpose of the role is to complete and oversee payroll process for Retail, Head Office and Warehouses, within required timeframe and according to prevailing legislation. You will also have the opportunity to be hands on with payroll process improvement projects.
The Responsibilities
- Process weekly time sheets, including; overtime, casuals
- Process staff movements including new starters, departures and other movements
- Interpret retail award as well as general employment proficiencies
- Analyse and report back tracked data
- Preparing manual payments when required
- Respond to all customer queries (face to face, telephone, email)
- Apply payroll knowledge, knowledge of company policies and procedures and problem solving skills to provide a quality response
- Assisting Finance team on queries and reports
- Previous experience in a retail/hospitality/health environment would be an advantage but not a must
- Previous experience using a large payroll system
- Experience with retail awards
- Strong Excel and numeracy skills is very important
