The Role

This role will see you take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing across the organisation. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery while supporting employees and leaders with professional, efficient service. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working in a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing full-function payroll processing, including preparation, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Reviewing wage and allowance data, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring payroll accuracy.
  • Completing month-end payroll requirements and statutory reporting.
  • Processing calculations relating to leave, terminations, prepayments, and allowances.
  • Managing superannuation, payroll tax, workers’ compensation, child support, and other statutory remittances.
  • Responding to employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintaining payroll records and supporting system updates and improvements.
  • Processing timesheets and leave applications.
  • Interpreting Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and employment contracts.
  • Supporting the broader finance and HR teams with additional payroll-related tasks as required.
Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience using payroll and HRIS systems.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processes in a multi-site or diverse business environment.
  • Ability to confidently interpret Awards, EAs, and employment contracts.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel capability.
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and excellent time management.
  • Clear and confident communication with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive approach, strong work ethic, and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • A collaborative, team-focused attitude with a genuine commitment to quality service.
