Job Responsibilities:

The Payroll Officer will manage a payroll responsible for a large Australian based workforce across a variety of professions. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a high volume environment and enjoys balancing accuracy, compliance, and customer service.
  • Manage processing of the national fortnightly payroll within a large payroll team.
  • Maintain accurate employee records including onboarding, terminations, leave management, and changes to conditions.
  • Interpret and apply awards, agreements, and legislation including Fair Work, superannuation, and taxation.
  • Support reporting and reconciliations for month-end and year-end cycles.
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees and managers, providing clear and timely support.
  • Assist with audits and compliance requirements, supplying accurate payroll documentation.
  • Play an active role in improving payroll systems, processes, and controls.
Prior Experience
  • Prior experience in a similar payroll position, ideally in a large organisation
  • A solid understanding of payroll legislation, industrial instruments, and compliance obligations.
  • Strong payroll systems knowledge such as SAP, iChris, ADP, Payglobal or Micropay
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
