The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a thriving and collaborative team as their Payroll Office. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll across multiple entities. Working closely with the Payroll Manager and broader team, you will play a key part in maintaining employee records, ensuring compliance with legislation, and delivering exceptional service to our employees. 

This role is a permanent part-time position working three days a week - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. A hybrid working environment (1 day WFH) will be offered after training.


Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-end processing of weekly and fortnightly payrolls (up to 1200 employees) across multiple entities.
  • Prepare for upcoming pay runs, ensuring smooth operations and accuracy.
  • Maintain and update employee records in payroll systems.
  • Process new hires, pay adjustments, and terminations in a timely manner.
  • Provide timely and accurate resolution of payroll-related queries.
  • Assist in the setup, creation, and maintenance of payroll systems, documentation, and processes.
  • Interpret and apply awards, employment contracts, agreements, legislation, and internal policies.
  • Perform month-end duties and prepare adhoc reports as required.
  • Support the payroll team with additional tasks and projects as directed.

Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced payroll environment with knowledge of payroll legislation and best practices.
  • Proven ability to work proactively, use initiative, and manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, and ERP systems (experience with Employment Hero and Roubler desired yet not essential).
