The Opportunity
We are looking for a Power BI Developer to join our team on a contract basis from 2 March - 30 June 2026 (with potential for extension). This role will play a key part in delivering insightful, interactive dashboards and reports to support business and analytics initiatives. You will work closely with data professionals and stakeholders to translate complex data into actionable insights.

What You'll Do
- Develop Power BI dashboards and reports that deliver actionable insights.
- Create and optimise semantic models and datasets, aligned with medallion architecture principles.
- Produce technical documentation for all Power BI solutions, including measures, calculations, and data sources.
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and incorporate feedback to improve reporting solutions.
- Train business users on Power BI dashboards and reports to ensure adoption and usability.
Essential
- Proven experience developing Power BI dashboards and reports
- Strong skills in SQL, DAX, and Power Query
- Solid understanding of data visualisation principles and best practices
- Experience building and managing semantic models
- Excellent communication skills to convey insights to technical and non-technical audiences
- Understanding of data governance principles
- Knowledge of medallion architecture (or equivalent: Raw, Standardised, Consumer layers)
- Familiarity with CI/CD / DevOps processes
- Experience with Azure Databricks or other cloud data platforms
- Exposure to insurance, finance, or regulated industries
- Experience analysing and visualising financial data
- Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field
- Be part of a data-driven team delivering impactful insights for key business decisions
- Gain experience in a highly regulated environment
- Work in a central CBD location with collaborative colleagues
