This role can be located in either Melbourne (Dandenong) or Sydney due to our clients factory locations.

Position Overview:

The have exclusively partnered with Sharp & Carter to find their next Procurement Manager will be responsible for driving cost reduction initiatives across all aspects of procurement. You will also be identifying opportunities to optimise expenditure, from commodities to operational essentials, both direct and indirect.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Reduction Strategies: Develop and implement cost reduction strategies across all procurement activities, focusing on driving down expenses while maintaining quality standards.
  • Supplier Management: Establish and nurture relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to ensure favourable agreements
  • Commodity Management: Identify opportunities to leverage purchasing power and drive efficiencies in commodity procurement, expanding beyond current commodities to cover a wide range of materials.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and align procurement activities with company objectives.
  • Systems Implementation: Assist in the implementation of any new procurement systems, leveraging current platforms, and other relevant tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to the wider procurement team, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and standards.
  Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in a procurement role, preferably in the food industry
  • Tertiary related qualification or similar
  • Proven ability to negotiate favourable terms and agreements with suppliers, driving cost savings and value for the organisation
  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience using a range of IT applications including Microsoft Office, SAP would be highly advantageous
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
