This is a standalone, senior role reporting to the CFO with responsibility for shaping and driving the organisation’s procurement strategy, driving cost savings, and strengthening commercial performance across the organisation.
About the role
You will lead all procurement activity end-to-end, setting the strategic direction and ensuring the organisation’s purchasing, sourcing, and supplier management practices deliver maximum value.
You will partner closely with senior leaders, operational teams, and key suppliers to build a modern, high-performing procurement framework grounded in governance, transparency, and strong commercial management.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a procurement strategy that maximises value and reduces cost.
- Lead major tenders, sourcing events, negotiations and contract management.
- Deliver year-on-year cost savings through improved commercial terms, supplier consolidation and market engagement.
- Build and maintain high-performing supplier relationships with clear performance and cost outcomes.
- Strengthen procurement governance, policies and compliance across the organisation.
- Support operations with clear procurement processes that improve efficiency and minimise spend leakage.
- Use data and reporting to identify cost-reduction opportunities and improve decision-making.
- Ensure all procurement activities meet probity, safety and regulatory requirements.
- Champion sustainable and ethical procurement practices.
- Drive continuous improvement and modernisation of procurement systems and workflows
- Proven experience leading procurement in a technical, operational or service-based environment.
- Exposure to spend categories such as but not limited to: labour, plant and equipment, fleet and subcontracted services
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering significant cost savings.
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management and supplier engagement skills.
- Analytical, organised and confident influencing senior leaders.
- Comfortable owning a standalone procurement function end-to-end.
