This is a unique opportunity to join a globally recognised automotive business in a newly created role, focused on developing and delivering innovative 4x4 aftermarket products. Based in Adelaide, this position offers hands-on involvement across design, product development and project delivery, working closely with both local and international engineering teams.
With continued growth across the aftermarket division, the business is investing in new product development and requires an engineer who is passionate about vehicles and enjoys seeing products come to life — from concept through to on-road performance testing.
You’ll play a key role in designing and developing suspension systems, including shock absorbers and lift kits, while also managing projects and collaborating with suppliers, production teams and global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop aftermarket automotive products to meet OEM and customer requirements
- Conduct analysis of competitor and OEM products to inform design improvements
- Manage product development lifecycle including RFQ, prototyping, testing and PPAP
- Prepare engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs and ECNs
- Support ride development and on-road testing of suspension systems
- Work closely with internal teams and external suppliers across APAC
- Mechanical Engineering degree (or relevant experience)
- Experience in product design, development or project engineering
- Exposure to automotive or manufacturing environments (highly regarded)
- CAD experience (Siemens NX advantageous)
- Passion for vehicles and willingness to be hands-on in testing and development
