We are seeking an experienced Production Coordinator to join a food manufacturing site in Bundaberg.
This is a shift-based leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day processing operations, ensuring production schedules are achieved while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
You will play a key role in coordinating staff, managing workflow and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Shift: 6:00am- 4:00pm (Day Shift)
Reports To: Production Manager
About the Role
As Production Coordinator, you will take ownership of production activities on your shift, overseeing both people and plant operations.
Working closely with the Production Manager and site leadership team, you will ensure output targets are met, product quality is maintained and all safety and compliance standards are upheld.
This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance operational efficiency with strong team engagement, driving the culture as well as the processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate production staff on shift (15-20 staff, this number fluctuates with casuals based on the seasons)
- Execute daily production plans to meet output and KPI targets
- Monitor machinery and processing performance
- Report and escalate maintenance issues as required
- Ensure products meet quality specifications
- Minimise waste and optimise production efficiency
- Maintain accurate production documentation and reporting
- Uphold food safety, quality and WHS standards
- Support labour planning and resource allocation
- Assist in rolling out new or revised procedures
- Promote a positive and communicative team culture
You are an experienced Production Coordinator or Production Supervisor within food manufacturing who thrives in a structured, process-driven environment.
You bring strong leadership capability, sound operational judgement and a proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement.
You will ideally have:
- Experience in a similar people leadership role within food manufacturing or food processing (team leader, supervisor or similar)
- Strong understanding of food safety standards
- Experience supervising or leading teams on shift
- Exposure to KPI-driven production environments
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- A hands-on, team-focused leadership style
- Forklift license (desirable)
