About the Role
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production activities while leading continuous improvement initiatives and supporting engineering-driven solutions across the factory.
The role is highly visible on the factory floor and requires a pragmatic, decisive leadership style balanced with strong people skills.
Location: South East Melbourne
Key responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day production operations, including labour, materials and equipment utilisation
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, translating ideas into practical action plans and measurable results
- Identify improvement opportunities across automation, equipment capability, workflows and output monitoring
- Contribute to CAPEX planning, business case development and implementation of new equipment
- Monitor production KPIs related to efficiency and delivery performance, with scope to improve productivity visibility and OEE
- Coach, mentor and develop Team Leaders, lifting consistency and capability across the leadership layer
- Promote and ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory standards
- Manufacturing leadership experience within an industrial, component or technically complex environment
- Strong understanding of continuous improvement and process optimisation (hands-on, not theoretical)
- Experience implementing or improving systems and processes in less mature manufacturing environments
- Supervisory or Team Leader management experience, with a focus on coaching and performance uplift
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background (desirable, not essential)
