Sharp and Carter are currently supporting a QLD State Government Department source an enthusiastic Program Support Officer to join the team on a an initial contract through till January 16th 2026 with likelihood of extension.This role sits within the newly established Information Governance and Digital Enablement (IGDE) directorate, which is initiating a program consisting of three streams of work. The Program Support Officer will be part of the Directorate team, supporting the Director, the Program Manager, and the three teams delivering the program of work.  They will be accountable for the effective administration of the program. 
 
This will be a multifaceted role responsible for the following:
Program Support and Administration
  • Collaborate with team members to improve internal processes (records, reporting, finance)
  • Act as document controller for all program artefacts
  • Provide secretariat support for program and project boards
Team Operations and Logistics
  • Provide operational support for tasks such as booking workshops and meetings, managing team calendars and shared mailboxes, coordinating onboarding/offboarding, and arranging equipment and supplies.
The Program Support Officer will support the successful delivery of the program by ensuring that the team has the information, tools and support they need in their roles.  They will have the opportunity to use their initiative and creativity to solve problems, and to work both independently and as part of a team.
 
To be successful in this role you will need:
  • Demonstrated experience in similar roles, ideally within the Queensland Government
  • Proven success in supporting teams with multiple deadlines and stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, accurate project documents, and to quality assure work before it is distributed
  • Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines, and escalate when needed
  • Effective problem solving, with the skills to resolve issues in pressure environments with tact, collaboration and mutual respect.
