About the Company
The Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB) is a commercial Statutory Authority whose purpose is to supply water in bulk to major consumers in the Gladstone Region. Those consumers comprise major industries, power generating organisations, and the Gladstone Regional Council.  GAWB manages a variety of assets ranging from major water storage through to pump stations, pipelines, storage tanks and water treatment plants and operates and maintains recreational facilities and fish fingerling production facilities and stocking programs.

About the Position
As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the management of multi-discipline infrastructure projects over the full project life cycle.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Stakeholder engagement including requirements gathering and ongoing communications
  • Develop project documentation including estimates, schedules, plans and business cases
  • Monitor and maintain schedules in MS project and registers for risk, cost and scope in accordance with GAWB’s project management framework
  • Manage performance of engineering and construction contractors including responding to RFI’s, change requests, project progress meetings, and reviewing and making recommendations on contractor’s claims
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with WH&S, Environmental and Quality Requirements and standards
  • Maintain project risk registers and manage issues throughout the project lifecycle
  • Manage project communications, including comprehensive status reporting
  • Work closely with the procurement team on commercial matters
  • Engage with the Superintendent on contractual and project matters as appropriate
About You
GAWB is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated individual who ideally possesses the following qualifications, experience and capabilities:
  • Three years’ project management experience over the full project life cycle
  • Formal qualifications in Project Management, Engineering or other appropriate discipline
  • Sound knowledge of safety and environmental risk management
  • Strong understanding of project management frameworks and governance
  • A high level of business and report writing skills
  • Sound knowledge of project / contract administration and cost control tools and systems
  • Strong computer skills in MS Project and MS Office
  • Broad technical knowledge to engage and supervise project resources including external contractors
  • Ability to act independently and proactively resolve problems
  • High degree of safety awareness and compliance
