About the role

Queensland Government is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and manage critical ICT projects within Digital Services and Programs (DSP). DSP sits within Reform and Support Services (RSS) in Courts Services Queensland (CSQ) and is responsible for delivering technology-enabled reform across Queensland Courts and Tribunals.

In this role, you will manage complex digital transformation initiatives that underpin the delivery of court and tribunal services, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
This position is identified as an individual contributor role under the Leadership Competencies for Queensland (LCQ) framework.

Key responsibilities You will:
  • Lead and manage ICT projects or managed activities across the full project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure deliverables meet business needs.
  • Establish and maintain strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders, peers, and program team members.
  • Provide accurate and timely project reporting in line with project assurance and governance standards.
  • Manage project governance, including risk management, mitigation strategies, and assurance activities.
  • Manage supplier relationships and contracts in accordance with departmental policies and standards.
  • Ensure strategic alignment and interdependencies are managed across related projects and initiatives.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and delivery plans.
  • Develop, maintain, and update project management documentation and artefacts.
  • Participate in project boards to support transparent, evidence-based decision-making.
  • Support a smooth transition of project outcomes to frontline and operational support teams, minimising impacts on business-as-usual activities.
About the program Digital Services and Programs deliver a portfolio of ICT projects aligned to the Department of Justice ICT Strategy 2021–2026. Queensland Courts rely heavily on technology to deliver services and are progressing towards a more digitised, paper-lite court and tribunal system.

Technical skills, abilities and cultural capability While no mandatory qualifications are required, the following skills and experience are highly regarded:
  • Strong attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy in project, procurement, and financial documentation.
  • Ability to negotiate priorities and resolve competing stakeholder interests.
  • Proven capability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and build consensus.
  • Experience managing ICT or digital transformation projects in complex environments.
Qualifications and experience (highly regarded)
  • Use of project management tools such as MS Project, Microsoft Office (Excel, Planner, Outlook).
  • Experience with project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 and Agile.
  • Procurement and contract management experience.
