We are currently partnering with a large, well-established Government organisation embarking on a significant transformation journey and are seeking two experienced Project Managers for initial 6 month contracts to support several key initiatives currently underway.

These roles will sit within a newly established program and portfolio function that is moving into its next phase of growth and maturity. With several projects already in flight and a broader transformation roadmap being shaped for the new financial year, this is an opportunity to join a program environment where you will play a hands-on role in driving delivery and building momentum across the organisation's project landscape.
These are delivery-focused Project Manager roles, ideal for individuals who enjoy working in evolving environments and partnering closely with business stakeholders to bring structure, clarity and progress to complex initiatives.

The Opportunity
You will be responsible for leading and supporting key projects across the organisation, working closely with senior stakeholders, sponsors and external partners to ensure successful delivery.
Key projects currently in progress include:
  • A finance transformation initiative focused on improving debt management processes and reducing manual reliance through process and system improvements
  • A data-focused project linked to legislative requirements, involving member data management and cleansing
  • A broader organisation-wide transformation initiative focused on improving how the business uses data, optimises processes and enhances systems capability
  • A potential workplace accommodation project, including planning and stakeholder engagement around a future office relocation
Depending on experience and team structure, one Project Manager may focus primarily on the larger transformation initiative while the second supports multiple projects across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, execution and delivery of assigned projects
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, plans and key delivery artefacts
  • Manage project governance including status reporting and steering committee updates
  • Maintain risk, issue, assumption and dependency registers
  • Work closely with Senior Responsible Owners (SROs), sponsors and business stakeholders
  • Coordinate with external partners and vendors where required
  • Support stage gate processes and project approvals
  • Identify delivery risks early and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure strong stakeholder engagement and communication throughout the project lifecycle
About You

  • Proven experience delivering business or organisational transformation projects
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Experience developing project plans, schedules and governance artefacts
  • Ability to work hands-on and take ownership of delivery outcomes
  • Strong risk and issue management capability
  • Experience working across business and technology initiatives
Experience in environments where portfolio management maturity is evolving will be highly regarded. This organisation has recently established a central program function and is actively uplifting its approach to project delivery and governance. Senior leadership support for the transformation agenda is strong, with a clear focus on delivering quality outcomes and sustainable business benefits.

You will be joining a collaborative and supportive program team, working alongside experienced program leaders and delivery professionals.
