We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Property Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial operations of an assigned portfolio of retail assets. This role partners closely with Property Management to deliver insightful reporting, ensure compliance, and support operational and strategic decision-making.
You’ll be responsible for financial control, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, while also contributing to process improvements and supporting capital transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the integrity and delivery of accounting results and management reporting for retail assets and marketing funds
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
- Calculate annual outgoings estimates and adjustments, including liaising with major tenants
- Support audits (outgoings, statutory, and trust) by preparing required documentation
- Coordinate budgeting and forecasting processes
- Deliver variance analysis and commentary for monthly and quarterly reports
- Identify and implement improvements to month-end processes
- Support financial aspects of property transactions (due diligence, settlements, onboarding/offboarding assets)
- Provide financial training and guidance to Property Management teams
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and relevant legislation
- CA/CPA qualified (or near completion)
- Strong analytical and organisational skills
- Experience in accounting (property experience advantageous)
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
