I’m delighted to be exclusively partnering with a leading Australian alternative investment manager on a key hire within their Property Funds team.
With c.$20bn AUM and a property platform representing over 50% of group assets, this is a high-profile appointment within a business forecasting 15%+ divisional growth into 2026, underpinned by a substantial existing development pipeline.
This is not an entry-level funds role — it is suited only to established fund accountants / property accountants with deep, hands-on property fund experience.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, with a dotted line to the Divisional CFO, this position sits at the core of fund reporting and corporate finance across listed and unlisted property vehicles.
No direct reports - this is a technically focused, high-ownership role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Full month-end fund reporting & trial balance finalisation
- Review of underlying property financials
- Corporate journals (management fees, treasury, fair value, distributions)
- Preparation of management accounts and investor reporting
- Annual financial statements and audit management
- Board and audit committee reporting
- Covenant calculations & lender compliance
- Cashflow forecasting and treasury management
- Budgeting and reforecasting in partnership with asset management
- BAS and tax support
The Candidate
This role is only suitable for candidates with:
- CA/CPA qualification (or substantial experience within the property/fund management space)
- Proven property fund accounting experience (listed or unlisted)
- Strong knowledge of Australian financial reporting standards within property structures
- Experience engaging with auditors, investors and lenders
- Confidence operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
