Currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer in a permanent capacity to join their well-established team, and work with the broader global purchasing team!


The Role:


The Purchasing Officer to support the procurement process. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you'll evaluate suppliers, prepare purchase orders, and coordinate with various departments to ensure timely material delivery. With a focus on inventory management, contract negotiations, and cost reduction, you'll play a vital role in optimising efficiency and enhancing supplier relationships.
  

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain documented processes and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
  • Research new suppliers and obtain quotes for materials.
  • Assist in sourcing spot buys of electronic components to bridge gaps between end-of-life products and new developments.
  • Familiarity with MRP systems and the ability to interpret forecasts and raise orders accordingly.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and logistics/3PL partners to ensure timely delivery. Including international shipping and freight management and associated paperwork.
  • Monitor and optimise stock holdings to meet business requirements
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
  • Attend team meetings to review safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale.
  • Resolve invoice queries and maintain data integrity in ERP system.
  
Successful applicants will hold:
  • Certificate IV or above in a related field or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Purchasing, Engineering).
  • Solid experience in purchasing roles, preferably with knowledge of electronic components and engineering principles. 
  • 3-5 + years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in ERP and MRP systems
  • Ability to negotiate effectively and adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments with a background in electrical engineering is advantageous.
