About the Company
The Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB) is a commercial Statutory Authority responsible to the Minister for Regional Development and Manufacturing and Minister for Water. GAWB’s purpose is to supply water in bulk to major consumers in the Gladstone Region. Those consumers comprise major industries, power generating organisations, and the Gladstone Regional Council. GAWB manages a variety of assets ranging from major water storage through to pump stations, pipelines, storage tanks and water treatment plants and takes measures to protect the quantity and quality of present and future water supplies and provides, operates, and maintains recreational facilities and fish fingerling production facilities and stocking programs.

About the Role
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Financial Officer, the Risk and Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring GAWB effectively manages its risks and meets its regulatory compliance obligations.  This includes strategic, enterprise and operational risk, quality management systems, internal audit, records management and document control.
  
As a valued business partner, the position oversees the provision of risk and compliance expertise and related business matters. Key to success will be working effectively with a range of internal stakeholders (from the Board to operational staff) and external stakeholders.

This position will be based from the GAWB head office in Gladstone. Relocation assistance can be negotiated for the successful candidate should they be based outside the region. 
  
About You
Ideally, you will be an experienced risk and compliance professional who possesses a deep understanding of the application of effective risk management in an asset-focused organisation (e.g. water, utilities, resources, or industry). Tertiary qualification in Risk Management,  Business, Quality and / or extensive experience in enterprise and operational risk management, compliance management, and in a corporate environment will be highly regarded. Advanced stakeholder management skills and a proactive business-partnering approach will be necessary, combined with exposure to change management/improving and optimising relevant quality concepts and methodologies.
