Sharp and Carter is proud to bring to market an amazing opportunity for a SAP Functional HR/Payroll Expert to join a Queensland State Government department for an initial 2 month contract. This role is based in Bowen Hills Brisbane where the candidate will be required to attend the office as per your managers request.
 
The Role:
The successful candidate will be required to fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with the Queensland public service values, to which Queensland Health is aligned. Within that context, the key responsibilities of this role are:

• Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
• Troubleshoot Problem tickets allocated to the Project.
• Design, configure and test SAP in accordance with strict information system standards and documentation requirements.
• Train users of SAP in accordance with the adopted functionality and operating procedures for the changes made to close the Trouble Tickets.
• Document system configuration changes, updated Functional specifications, review Technical Specifications and procedures ensuring that they are maintained, reflect best practice for user requirements and appropriately comply with recognised Departmental and Government accounting and human resource policies. Liaise with the Business End Users to solve problems that arise in fixing the Trouble Tickets in SAP systems in a timely manner.
• Proactively assess the effectiveness of the SAP system and liaise closely with stakeholders to recommend modifications to improve system effectiveness.z
• Implement updates and upgrades of the SAP system, write Functional specifications for conversion to Technical Specifications needed for ABAP programming and fine tune the user requirements document generated by Business Analysts.
• Provide expert advice and support, in the completion of quality reviews of deliverables.
• Provide expert advice on changes to the solution design to ensure the system design remains robust, fit for purpose and meets requirements.
• Undertake key activities in providing expert support for Queensland Health pay run.
• Occasionally there may be a requirement to work out of hours, weekends, and public holidays to ensure the successful delivery of the departments enterprise solutions

About You:

• Demonstrated high level analytical and problem-solving skills in SAP HR in Organisational Management, Payroll (Australian-based system), HR to Fi/Co integration, Time Management, Personnel Administration, CATS, ESS/MSS.
• Proven experience in formulating, documenting and implementing functional and technical specifications including sound knowledge of current technical trends, including systems integrations and service-orientated architecture.
• Demonstrated extensive experience in the support and configuration of large-scale HR SAP Solutions. The product set for QH HR includes SAP, Workbrain and Finance/Controlling (Fi/Co).
• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant payroll legislation and award structures in Government.
• High level of written and verbal communication skills and the ability to consult and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders on complex business requirements and transfer knowledge to team members and clients.
• Hands on configuration experience in SAP ECC6-EHP8 and earlier versions for over 10 years would be well regarded.
