The Opportunity:
Our client are looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join the team who will be able to come in and alleviate demand across the portfolio of clients they currently manage as well as help the business grow and bring on new clientele into the future. Acting as an "Account Manager" you will take ownership over your clientele and work as part of a supportive team who are very good at documenting processes.
About the Role:
Reporting into the Bookkeeping Manager, working collaboratively among a close knit team and servicing over 30 clients (which continues to grow), the role will include:
- Overseeing and ensuring quality of work conducted by offshore team members.
- Prepare and processing weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy in pay rates, deductions, and superannuation contributions.
- Complete and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) in compliance with tax regulations and deadlines.
- Oversee and manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Assist in preparing monthly and yearly financial reports to provide insights into the company’s financial performance.
- Ensure accurate tax reporting and assist in preparation for annual tax returns.
- Coordinate with external accountants for tax planning, audits, and other financial matters.
To be considered for this role, you will have had 5+ years end-to-end bookkeeping experience you’ll need a solid understanding of accounting principles. You’ll be proficient in Xero accounting software and MS Excel, with a keen eye for detail and strong time management skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities are essential, as is the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. A positive, reliable attitude and the ability to work well within a team are key to success in this role.
