A large Queensland Government department is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to play a key role in the uplift of Agile delivery capabilities and reporting maturity across multiple program workstreams.

This role focuses on two major streams: the implementation of end-to-end DevOps practices, and the enhancement of reporting via a new enterprise data lake and Power BI dashboards. You’ll work across business, technical, and vendor teams to ensure new tools, capabilities, and ways of working are aligned with legislative and operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Act as the bridge between internal delivery teams, business SMEs, and implementation vendors to define clear and actionable requirements.
• Contribute to the implementation of Agile processes using Azure DevOps, including automated testing, iterative release planning, and backlog management.
• Work with stakeholders to capture, analyse, and document business and technical requirements across DevOps and data/reporting streams.
• Collaborate with data and reporting teams to support the delivery of new Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions, based on legislative and operational needs.
• Liaise with executive stakeholders and business teams to ensure traceability of requirements and delivery outcomes.
• Lead and facilitate workshops, write user stories and acceptance criteria, and support all phases of testing and change readiness.
• Provide ongoing support to training, helpdesk, and change functions through go-live and beyond.
• Ensure procedural compliance when handling sensitive information or working with confidential datasets.

Skills Required

• 8 +years’ experience as a Business Analyst, with recent roles in Agile or DevOps environments.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC processes, Agile frameworks, and experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools.
• Demonstrated experience in business process improvement, requirement gathering, and working across hybrid teams.
• Proven ability to engage with stakeholders from operational through to executive level.
• Previous involvement in Power BI or enterprise reporting projects, ideally tied to data lakes or structured data platforms.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills – written and verbal.
• Experience working in complex, high-visibility government environments preferred.
• Confident working across concurrent streams, prioritising effectively, and driving outcomes.
• Familiarity with BPMN, process modelling tools, and Microsoft Office suite.
