Reporting to the Site Manager, this role is hands-on and highly visible, partnering closely with maintenance, operations, and capital projects teams to improve plant reliability, safety, and performance.
The site operates multiple production streams, including both long-established assets and modern, highly automated processing lines, creating a technically varied and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the site SME for electrical, instrumentation, PLC and SCADA systems
- Lead complex fault finding, reliability improvements and root cause investigations
- Support and deliver capital projects, upgrades and system improvements
- Develop asset strategies, condition monitoring plans and improvement initiatives
- Collaborate closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering stakeholders
- Manage contractors during projects, shutdowns and major outages
- Electrical Engineering qualification
- Strong background in manufacturing or other capital-intensive industries (e.g. building materials, FMCG, mining, heavy processing)
- Solid hands-on experience with PLCs, instrumentation and SCADA systems
- Comfortable operating as a technical authority without direct line management
- Practical, commercially minded engineer who can work within real-world manufacturing constraints
This role is based in a regional manufacturing hub in South Australia. Most employees live in a nearby regional centre offering schools (including private options), healthcare, shopping and daily flights to major capital cities. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.
